100 years on - Honley Remembers Peace Day in 2019
Honley Village Community Trust will be participating in the village celebrations of Peace Day 1919, when the nation rejoiced at the end of the Great War, with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
Plans are at an early stage but your help is sought in remembering how the villagers spent the war years, in mills, in munitions factories or raising funds for the comfort of the troops and the Belgian refugees, who lived here.
If you can contribute with memories, photos, or information about that era of Honley's history or would just like to find out more,
there will be two open days at the Village Hall, Moorbottom
Thursday 21st September 2017 2.00pm to 3.00pm and
Thursday 12th October 2017 2.00pm to 3.00pm
