During this years AGM we celebrated two very special individuals in our community - Peter Bonds & Eileen Broadbent
Peter Bonds retired from our Village Trust around 18 months ago however he has continued to support us raising valuable funds for the Village Hall and Magdale. Peter has set up and hosted two fabulous annual Art Exhibitions, showcasing c15 local artists and last year set up and hosted the first Junior and Infants Art Exhibition "Carnival of Animals", involving every child in the school. Peter has also ran 5 sell out music nights over the last 18 months, bringing the village hall alive with jazz, soul and modern music. Peter continues to support our Children's events which we run annually and plays santa every year at our Childrens Christmas party - we are not sure who enjoys it more - the children or Peter :-). A huge thank you for everything you have done, the money you have raised and your continued support for the Trust.
During covid, Eileen Broadbent, a local resident set up a book stall outside her house during the sunny days over the summer encouraging people to come and take a look, buy and donate their unwanted books. Over the years Eileen has raised a staggering £6k for Yorkshire Cancer Research, a charity close to not only her heart but that of many others.
Eileen received our Community Award while Peter was awarded our Chairs Award
