Unusual Butterflies seen at Magdale Field!

Two butterfly benches have been installed near the White Bridge. These benches were commissioned using a legacy left to the Trust by John Murray who died last year. John was a founder member of the Trust and long serving editor of the Honley Flyer. See if you can spot a carving of a ferret which was John's nickname from his schooldays.. We hope people enjoy sitting on them and admiring the views across the fields and Mag Brook.

Our match funded was limited to £2500 but because we did so well The Oglesby Trust has recently allocated us an additional £273 bonus. So our final final total is an amazing £6083. We look forward to working on the projects during the course of the next year, with the planting for the Community Orchard to take place in Spring 2022.

Thank You to everyone who supported our campaign to raise money for environmental projects on Magdale.

It was a fantastic achievement to reach our target of £2500 within 4 days. Our final total after the 7 days of the campaign was £5816, including match funding from The Oglesby Trust and gift aid

Once again many thanks for your support
